Sharon and Ian have previously operated the Waimakariri Lodge, a luxury bed and breakfast set in the foot of the Southern Alps, near Oxford. On making the decision to move to Akaroa, they decided to stay in the tourism business. They have built a new home in Akaroa, Garthowen, specifically designed to cater for and pamper our guests.
Ian has a passion for vintage cars, mainly Citroen and is only too happy to show you his collection.
Ian and Sharon currently own a 1,000 cow Dairy Farm south of Ashburton and Ian enjoys many days assisting our son manage the property.
Sharon enjoys her work in Interior Design and looks forward to the day when she can further her studies in this field. Sharon's love of gardening shows as you walk through the front gate, a picturesque cottage garden.
Ian and Sharon have three grown up children and eight grand children all scattered around New Zealand, some of our happiest times are spent with our family and grandchildren.
We have a 4 year old long haired Jack Russell named Jessie, and new addition called Bella, she's now 18 months old and is another long haired Jack Russell and very busy of course, they are part of our family and love interacting with our guests.
