To visit Akaroa is like taking a step back in time.

Large areas of the village are registered with the Historic Places Trust and strict controls have ensured many of the old buildings and amenities still survive. It is this which attracts many to the village.

Although blessed with some of the finest restaurants in New Zealand, and many unique and interesting shops and galleries, if you are looking for something more adventurous, there is plenty to select from.

The booking offices for all of Akaroa's attractions and adventure tours are within a few minutes walk at the Information Centre, we can also help with some bookings.
