This award is in recognition of our business practices towards Environment and Sustainability.The 5 catagories are: Energy Efficiency, Waste Management, Water Conservation, Conservation and Community. Garthowen is a family owned Bed and Breakfast. Our three year old home was built with sustainability in mind, using recycled native timber, underground water tanks and solar water heating. Together we can create a cleaner and greener little peice of heaven in Akaroa.  In recognition of our responsibility to the environment and to further enhance the pleasure of your stay, we are endorsed as Kiwi Green Certified, using only eco-friendly products in our cleaning. If you're concerned about the impact of your travelling, we're also able to offer the facility of off setting your carbon footprint through Kiwi Green Regeneration. |
